The CEF campus has been shutdown until further notice due to the COVID-19 outbreak

CEF Staff Working Remotely

  • CEF Staff has remote access to their desk tops, emails, documents, and cell phone access to continue to serve our industry.
  • The CEF Office phones are being forwarded to a CEF team member for customer service of those calls.

On-line Virtual Instruction Strategic Plan To Be Implemented

CEF Remaining Semester Classes On-Line Format

  • Partnership formed between CEF and NCCER/Pearson Publishing for Craft/Apprenticeship Classes*.
  • CEF/North Lake College researching NLC’s Blackboard LMS that can be utilized with some development needed for Career Development classes.
  • 8 of the 73 CEF remaining classes this semester will be in on-line beta testing 3/23-3/27.
  • Goal is to have the majority of the 73 classes in an online or in beta test format by 3/30-4/3.
  • *Pipefitting and Sheet Metal are not available in NCCERConnect and we are currently honing delivery methods for those trades.
Zoom Meetings
  • CEF staff has investigated many web-based conferencing solutions for virtual instruction.
  • Zoom Meetings is to be used to enhance both Craft/Apprenticeship and Career Development Instruction.
  • All CEF events including graduation are being reviewed for viability of being held.
  • Announcements forthcoming on the status of these events.

CEF will relay to you any information we receive from the State of Texas, DCCCD/North Lake College as soon as it is conveyed to our office.
