Intermediate Building Systems Design Using AutoCAD

This course provides Autocad users a continued understanding of Autocad’s features and limitations. Upon completion of this course students will be able to create advanced 2D and 3D Autocad drawings using advanced drafting techniques; layers, dimensioning, 3D modeling, rendering and plotting. Students will learn intermediate skills in addition to more advanced techniques for drawing setup and productivity which is crucial for today’s Autocad users in the construction industry.

You will learn the foundational skills necessary to organize, markup, edit and track comments in a PDF drawing set. Use Revu’s measurement tools for takeoffs and estimates. Learn how to calibrate your drawing set, conduct a visual search and apply count measurements. Streamline your estimating workflow by creating custom columns to calculate material and labor costs and generate summary reports to distribute data to key project team members.

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to create basic 2D drawings using the drawing and editing tools, organize drawing objects on layers, add text and basic dimensions, and prepare to plot the drawings. Students will learn essential skills in addition to more sophisticated techniques for drawing setup and productivity which is crucial for today’s Autocad users in the construction industry.
