Description of the Program
PLEASE NOTE: The Welding A and B classes meet twice a week and are run concurrently. Please enroll in both A and B classes at the
beginning of the semester. Topics will include: Welding Safety, Oxyfuel Cutting,
Base Metal Preparation, Joint Fit-Up and Alignment, Welding Quality,
SMAW Equipment and Set Up, SMAW-Electrodes, and SMAW-Beads and
Fillet Welds. Including 70% hands-on per
semester. Course topics will include: GTAW-Carbon Steel Pipe, GTAWLow
Alloy and Stainless Steel Pipe, GTAW-Aluminum Plate, GTAWAluminum
Pipe, and GMAW and FCAW Equipment and Filler Metals

Students are required to enroll in both Welding Construction I-A and Welding Construction I-B.
