Prerequisite: English or Spanish Math & Reading test, OR Applied Construction Math class or ESL class.
NOTE: If the Math/Reading test is taken in Spanish, student must take an ESL test as well.
All testing must be completed no later than Friday January 13, 2023.

Course topics are: Core (Build Your Future in Construction); Orientation to the Pipefitting Craft; Basic Safety (Construction Site Safety Orientation); Ladders and Scaffolds; Introduction to Hand tools; Pipefitting Hand Tools; Introduction to Power Tools; Pipefitting Power Tools; and Introduction to Basic Rigging.

Threading Pipe
Type of Class: Seminar
 
1 Sessions/4 Hours
This module is a fundamental Pipe cutting and Threading course designed to teach the relevant and prerequisite skills needed to measure, cut and Thread pipe. The student will be provided with an understanding of the essential skills and equipment necessary to perform the job of cutting and threading pipe. The student will be responsible for understanding the correct terminology associated with this process, including both proper and slang names for the equipment used along with the proper techniques for using a variety of tools and devices. The student will develop critical thinking so as to recognize and react to various issues and situations that may arise and respond in an safe and responsible manner to these situations. In addition, the student will learn visual and tactile inspection techniques to assure that the threads being used are in satisfactory condition and suitable for the intended process.
